Children's Science Hall - Nature and Humans

Discover the Science of Coexistence Through Play and Exploration!

The Children's Science Hall is a dedicated space designed for young visitors to engage with scientific concepts through fun, hands-on activities. It invites children to explore a sustainable world where nature, humans, and machines coexist in harmony. This space sparks curiosity and encourages kids to ask questions and explore on their own. Through these experiences, we aim to help children appreciate the importance of coexistence and inspire them to envision a brighter future.

Featured Exhibit

  • Nature, Human and Machines

You can watch an introductory video at the entrance that spans the creation of galaxies, the birth of the Earth, human evolution, and the impact of industrialization on environmental destruction.

  • Nature in Pain
    Experience Overview

Users can freely create interactive topographic maps in the AR sandbox by shoveling, moving, and piling up the sand. Sensors detect changes in the sand's shape and project these changes onto simulated topographical maps, demonstrating how landscapes would be altered if they were real. This activity allows users to observe how natural environments might be impacted by changes in topographical features.

  • Revenge of the Plastics
    • This exhibit depicts a fishing boat catching fish contaminated with microplastics from polluted waters, shown through a series of panels and graphics. Transparent fish models reveal the microplastics inside, and visitors can select different fish species displayed in a netted exhibit box.
  • Traces of Humanity
    Experience Overview
    • Explore various artifacts from different geological layers using a sliding model. The top layer, known as the Anthropocene, is shown to be covered in trash, highlighting how everyday waste has created a new geological layer in Earth's history.
  • Green Living Habits
    Experience Overview
    • Turn the handle to activate different automata and observe how they move. Check the explanation panel next to each lever to understand the mechanisms and principles behind the movements.
